CrossLink has joined the international relief efforts to help treat tsunami victims in South Asia. The ministry has shipped supplies to teams working in Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. More than 1000 pounds of medical supplies, including 360 pounds of over-the-counter medicines collected by the youth of a local church were delivered to the Global Peace Initiative in Banda Aceh, the area most damaged by the earthquake and tsunami. Another large shipment was sent to support the work of Hungarian Baptist Aid in Sri Lanka. To date, CrossLink has sent more than $237,000 in medical aid to this region. After opening and testing a supply route into Afghanistan (see our press release dated 12/01/04), CrossLink has shipped 17 large packages containing bandages, catheters, gauze, exam gloves, needles, splints, sutures and other items as requested by Hope Hospital in Kabul.
