Job Title: Fundraising Event Manager
Job Summary: Plan a fundraising event from beginning to end with a goal of raising $10,000 for the mission of CrossLink International. The event can be a concert, art show, walk/run, dinner…anything is possible. Necessary resources, e.g., donor lists and up-front expenses, will be provided. Intern will gain experience with soliciting sponsors, budgeting, vendor relations and donor management.
Agency: CrossLink International is a Christian nonprofit, humanitarian aid organization that collects and warehouses donated medical supplies and medicines in order to equip medical mission teams. The teams custom order and then use supplies from CrossLink to help those in many underserved areas around the world.
Compensation: $2,750 subject to FICA and all applicable employment taxes.
Requirements:
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate education at an accredited U.S. college/university and be enrolled for a 2011 Fall semester program (minimum of 12 credits/semester)
- Education and/or experience in fundraising or marketing
- Communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Willing to hone fundraising development skills, innovative
- Ability to use budgeting and expense tracking software
- Desire to experience a nonprofit environment
- Attend a seminar conducted by Volunteer Fairfax during internship
